The quarterly
figures
are announced
by Vodafone.
The major failure
last April let the provider
see a slight dip in its sales. Without
the interference and the subsequent compensation action,
the turnover
of the telecom
provider
has increased.
The major failure
due to a fire at a substation network
was not a good start of the quarter.
The quarter
where Vodafone
now reports
covers April, May and June. After the outage,
which lasted several
days and made sure that Vodafone
customers
in a large part of the Randstad
reach, was a compensating action.
Customers
could call for free four days. The missed revenue
during the fault and the cost of compensation were added together
the increase
in sales offset by Vodafone.
Decrease in revenue, increase customer
The turnover
was, in fact, done increase
as Vodafone
is not such a
big setback
had. The total number of terminals
at Vodafone,
namely increased
to more than 5.3 million.
That was 3 percent
more than the same quarter
last year. In total there were 17,000 new clients.
The average
income per customer
declined
slightly,
with 10 cents of € 29 - to € 28.90. The number of minutes
called the Vodafone
plants decreased
by 50 million,
total phoned Vodafone
customers
2,902,000
minutes.
This decrease
was also well compensated by an increase
in data traffic,
a trend that is visible
everywhere in telecom
land. With Vodafone
saw a 35% increase
in use compared
to a same quarter
last year.
